Fall Photo Bonanza (Part One)

Hi all! Forgive me, as it’s been a bit of time since my last post, but the fall was just so wonderfully busy with photo sessions and work commitments that I’m just now catching up on my posts! In order to efficiently give you a sense of some of the work I’ve done this fall, I’m going to deviate from my traitional posting methods and combine “highlights” of several sessions into one blog post. (Note: this is TREMENDOUSLY difficult for me, as I have so many loved photos and a hard time making decisions, especially when those decisions mean eliminating options. Seriously, I take forever with a restaurant menu because I love all the choices and simply don’t want to just have to choose one thing to eat. I know. #TheStruggleIsReal)

Anyhoo, here’s Part One of what I’m calling the Fall Photo Bonanza, and just be prepared: it’s adorable child overload time! We have sweet 8-day-old Harper in some of these pics, with cameos by older sister Heidi; there’s the red-haired dynamic sister duo of Keira and Kayla; and there is a pair of plaid-shirted brothers named Andrew and Blake, repeat clients who are a total hoot and have both graced my website’s cover page. There’s also a blond-and-brunette sister duo dressed in pink named Alivia and Addison, also repeat clients, and they simply get more beautiful each time I see them. Keep an eye out for 3-month-old Blake in his dapper t-shirt/tie combo (too. cute.) as well as his Chicago Bears gear, and nearly-2-year-old Tommy will charm you with his auburn curls and big blue eyes. Also, we have a bro-and-sis combo from another wonderful family of repeat clients: 6-month-old Jack and 2.5-year-old Caroline, who simply rocked her hot pink pants in our forest preserve session.

Enjoy these photos, and look for Part Two soon! I hope the new year is already being kind to you.

Cheers,

Kristin

Welcome to the world, Conor James!

Hey all! Happy autumn! This past Monday, I wore sandals and a skirt as the temps neared 80 degrees, and yesterday I sported my down coat and saw snow flurries during my workday–oh, fall, you can be so temperamental!

Anyway, I’ve been very busy taking and editing photos (oh, and going to my full-time day job), so I’ve definitely been in need of a website post. This one is one of my newborn sessions from the summer; sweet little Conor was just adorable, and he did a little bit of sleeping for me and a lot of wide-eyed looking around. I snuck in a few pics of mom Jen while Conor’s dad and loyal pup, Ruby, were nearby–Ruby definitely kept checking in on her new “brother” and made sure that I did right by him.

Enjoy these photos of a cute little guy! More session posts soon to come.

Cheers,

Kristin

Living the Lake Life

Hi again! Today I’ve got some super fun pics of Erin, Larry, and their sweet 4-month-old daughter, Elizabeth, whom you may remember from her newborn session in February. Earlier this summer, they invited me to take photos on Larry’s dad’s boat, which Larry has driven all over Lake Michigan (even up to Saugatuck, MI, a couple of times, which is one of my favorite places ever). Clearly, lucky little Elizabeth will grow up knowing the boating life, and it was so nice to spend a morning on the boat–we even took it out for a quick spin to see if the fog had dissipated a little further from shore.

Enjoy these adorable nautical-themed photos! The fall is coming up and I’m booking up dates quickly, so let me know if you’d like to capture some autumn memories for your family!

Cheers,

Kristin

Hangin’ with Will and Emmy

Hi again! Today I’ve got some great shots courtesy of 2.5-year-old Will, 7-month-old Emmy, and mom Laurie and dad Mike (with a cameo by the super sweet and well-behaved black lab Roxy). You may remember them from an earlier post in which Emmy was just a sweet little newborn. Now, she’s still gorgeously wide-eyed, and she’s also full of smiles and loving being able to scoot/crawl all over the place. On this visit, big brother Will greeted me at the front door with his red vaccuum (unplugged, but he was still vigorous in its use), and after a minute or so of greetings, he looked me straight in the eyes and earnestly asked, “How are you doing?” He’s a hoot. He is such a genuine and fun-loving little boy, and I had such a great time getting to take photos for this family again.

Oh, and that sweet pink-and-white collared dress that Emmy is adorably wearing in a few pics? That was Laurie’s when she was a baby. 🙂

Hope you like the pictures and are enjoying this last month of summer!

Cheers,

Kristin

Familypalooza: 2 parents, 5 kids, 8 grandchildren, and a whole lot of good times

Hey y’all! I’m back with photos of the largest family session I’ve done yet: 19 people! Pat and Jim are the proud parents of five kids; those kids have four spouses and eight children (ranging in age from 5 to 12) between them, and they all met me at a great preserve in Wheaton for a full family session. Despite it getting warm quickly and the bugs coming out to nibble us, this shoot was tons of fun, as these kids were seriously like professionals–they were great sports, totally enthusiastic, and willing to try anything (especially if it involved climbing/sitting/leaning/perching on a boulder of some sort). We took full group photos, sibling groups, individual families, and just about every combination we could imagine–and, of course, a bunch of candids.

My friend Kate is one of the five children of Pat and Jim, and she’s one of my closest friends whom I’ve known since we were just killin’ it (a.k.a. wearing awkward ’90s clothes) in junior high together (FYI: Kate LOVED Jared Leto and Leo DiCaprio back then–she was ahead of her time). I’d tell you that she’s the one with red hair, but, well, you’ll see that there are a couple of very cool redheads in these photos. 🙂  It was so nice to hang with her entire family, and I’m really pleased with the color and vibrancy of these photos. Those kids brought this session to life, and it was a blast to shoot.

No family is too large to photograph! Can anyone beat my current record of 19 people for one session? Just let me know if I can take photos for your whole family!

Enjoy the day!

Kristin

Boy, oh boy!

Hi all! Today I have a 2-for-1 deal for you: two sets of newborn baby boy pics in one post! The first little guy is Jack, and he was photographed when he was just a week old. He’s the firstborn of Beth and Tom, who are both teachers, and he’s adorable, calm, and sweet–but little does he know that in 17 years, his mom and dad are going to be sparring about whether he attends the University of Illinois (mom’s choice) or the University of Missouri (dad’s choice)!

The second handsome little guy (his first pic is in the striped grey-and-taupe hat) is Lucas, who is the son of Melis and Troy and the little brother of beautiful 2-year-old Julia. I was able to photograph and meet Lucas when he was just four days old, and he was super easygoing and pretty darn alert for much of our time together. Then, once he fell asleep, he squirmed until he was sleeping on his side–in the same position that his big sister likes to sleep. Isn’t that so sweet?

Enjoy the pics of these adorable guys! Email me at maggiepaigephoto@gmail.com if you’d like to set up a session of your own!

Best,

Kristin

Four Kids = More Fun

Hey, y’all! I’m back catching up on my session posts from a little bit ago; even when we were stuck in the midst of the longest.coldest.winter.EVER, I was able to sneak in some great sessions. For this one, I went over to the house of the Saso Family to photograph Jody and Pete’s four cool kids: Alyssa, Dom, Gigi, and Rocco (listed in descending order from eldest to littlest). They were such a hoot; Gigi and Dom are smiley and gregarious and didn’t mind hamming it up for the camera at all, and big sis Alyssa oversaw the precedings with the calm, cool, and gentle demeanor of a patient older sibling (though I hear she’s a pretty tough force on the basketball court). 3-month-old Rocco was just as sweet as can be and was happy to be held by his siblings or fly solo for a few portraits of his own. It was really just a fun, lovely winter afternoon.

Oh, and also, these kids are absolutely gorgeous. You’ll see.

Even though the weather prevented us from enjoying the outdoors, it just goes to show that if you’ve got a lovely home with good natural light like the Sasos do, we can rock a photo session. Of course, spring is coming now, right? Right? It has to be. It will. So, just let me know if I can book a spring or summer session for you–Maggie Paige Photography is scheduling now!

Have a wonderful week!

Cheers,

Kristin
